This mountain biking epic will give you an extended tour of the Kathmandu Valley and beyond. We traverse the northern rim of the valley visiting all the high points and power centres of the ancient Nepal Kingdom then emerges from the mountains on the road linking Nepal with Tibet, and cross the Friendship Bridge onto Tibetan soil.
Returning to our river camp it’s the start of a 2-day white water raft on the adrenaline rich Bhotie Kosi River. Back in the saddle we complete our circuit of the Valley via the southern hillsides overflowing in historic pilgrimage sites and a web of single trails returning us back to the Capital.
75% of the trip is off road, altitude ranges from 700m (2,300 ft) to 2,700m (8,860 ft) and daily riding averages about 30-40 miles or 5 hours biking daily.
This trip is ideal during October to April.
An added option, to polish off the tour is a hot air balloon ride floating at 11,000ft over the valley and high above the trails you’ve just ridden, for a first class bird’s eye view of the mighty Himalayas.
